Ice Age Trail
In the Summer of 2019 Donny and I (Jenny) were able to hike over 50 miles of the Ice Age Trail. We completed the “Walk the Wauk” (Waukesha County) section (43.5 miles) and were working on the “Meander the Mid-Moraine” (Washington and Ozaukee Counties) section before Donny moved to New York. This took a lot of logistic work on Donny’s part to complete; finding the trail heads, finding out where each car should be parked, making sure the hike wasn’t too long or too short, etc. I will be forever grateful for this incredibly precious time that I was given with him. We are currently waiting for a bench to be built to be put in the Scuppernong segment in Donny’s memory, we will update this website when it’s in place so people can pay it a visit.

The Terrace- University of Wisconsin- Madison
“One of the things that bonded me and Donny over the years was that we both really enjoyed gathering small groups of friends and family to simply spend quality time together. When we were in high school, the natural gathering place was usually at Jenny and Rod’s. In college, it was The Terrace. Donny was such a connector, and he would bring different groups together to share stories, drink some beer, and watch the sunset over the lake. I think the terrace was a place he channeled the feeling of his home kitchen fully. It was a place we could all gather and be free to talk about anything and everything. In those two places more than any other, I saw a Donny in his most comfortable and natural state.” - friend Tony Kamenick
